About Mark
Mark Lainer is originally from Worcester, MA. He lives with his wife, actress Linda Landry, and an ever increasing number of cats, occasional dogs and other assorted critters.

Mark starred in the Academy Award and Emmy award winning FSU student film "Slow Dancin’ Down the Aisles of the Quick Check" (screened at the Cannes Film Festival and winner of numerous film festival prizes), the 2000 Coca Cola Refreshing Filmmaker Grand Prize winning film "Escape Back to the Movies" (shown on thousands of film screens nationwide), the independent short film "The Meeting" (shown at the 1999 LA Independent Film Festival, Florida Film Festival, and on the Sci Fi Channel show Exposure) and was featured in the FSU student films "Zoe’s Xmas Surprise," "Salt," "The Lottery Ticket," and "Chaos in Congerville" as well as the independent films "Rose’s" and "Alligator Alley." He had a recurring role on the syndicated series "The Cape," and was featured in Episode Five of the HBO miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon." He has appeared in numerous television commercials, as well as featured roles in the syndicated TV Show "Sheena, Queen of the Jungle," Disney Channel’s "The Jersey," USA Network’s "Sins of the City," ABC’s "Second Noah," Fox’s "Fortune Hunter," NBC’s "seaQuest," as well as various Nickelodeon productions. He can currently be seen in comercials for Middleton Pest Control, Florida's Natural Orange Juice and Publix Supermarkets.

He graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in Amherst, MA with a degree in Neuroscience. He worked as a performer for the Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, FL, at the Comedy Warehouse from Feb. 1990 until February Feb. 2001 and at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at the Disney/MGM Studios from Feb. to Oct. 2001. He still works at the Comedy Warehouse on a part-time basis. His prior work experience includes bookkeeping and accounting work for various concerns, including Marvin I. Lainer & Company in Worcester, MA and MFI Art Co. and Soho Picture Framing in NYC. He also interned as a research biologist for the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company in Kalamazoo, MI. He traveled for six months in East Africa, volunteering as a technician in the laboratory of a village hospital and teaching bookkeeping and accounting at a small technical college in Kilifi, an island off the coast of Kenya.

He was a member of the Resident Company and Board of the Orlando Theater Project in Orlando, FL, and has performed theatrically in various venues in New York City, Massachusetts, Central FL and the Los Angeles area. As a Resident Company Member of OTP, he co-starred in two productions of "Who’s Afraid of Xmas at Virginia Woolf’s," as well as playing the title role of Ganesha in a production of "A Perfect Ganesh." He played Rogers the butler in last year's production of Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians" at the Santa Clarita Repertory Theatre in SoCal, and played the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come and Fred Fitzpatrick in a recent workshop production of Mark Brown's "The Trials of Ebenezer Scrooge" at the Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festivals PlayFest.

He has also written and performed in numerous special events and taught many workshops. He performed with improvisational comedy troupes in New York City, and was a founding member of the ‘Who What and Warehouse Improv Company’, the resident improv troupe at Disney’s Comedy Warehouse on Pleasure Island. He has written and directed and performed in many special events for the Walt Disney Company and other companies (such as Ford Motor Company, Ernst and Young and Eckerd Drug, among many others), as well as having led corporate training seminars in the application of improvisational techniques to the business world.
